Everyone loves a good makeover. Whether it’s found in a classic feel-good movie, the subject of a smash hit reality show or in their friend’s living room. People are drawn to the transformation. And it makes sense, doesn’t it? It’s common knowledge that a key component to feeling good as a whole is taking pride in your appearance. In fact, studies show that your productivity is deeply affected by how put-together you feel. With working at home becoming more common, savvy businesses encourage remote and at-home employees to prepare for the day by investing in personal appearance. For many that routine incorporates a makeup portion. Four out of five women in the U.S. wear makeup daily and an increased focus on skincare and makeup for everyone is on the rise globally.
A component of esthetic and cosmetology education is, of course, makeup application. Many of Academy of Hair Design’s students have truly become artists of the craft. Many students come in to Academy with a strong passion and simply lack the technique. But art without passion is only technique. Learning is a relay race, educators can’t get you all the way to the finish line. You must take the personal accountability to push yourself to the next level.
