Success is right around the corner. If you’ve always dreamed of being a barber or perhaps have developed a passion for make up in the last few years, a career in the beauty and barbering industry can add variety and prosperity to your life.

1) Meet the Academy

First things first, we need to get to know each other! To kick things off, give us a call at 417-881-3900 and set up a tour of the campus. You’ll be able to have a look around the classrooms and services floor, giving you a feel for the environment you’ll be learning in.

First Tip: Come prepared with any burning questions and our campus recruiter can quench that curiosity!

After you’ve wrapped up your walk with our campus recruiter, we will give you a folder full of valuable information like tuition prices and start dates. The second component of the first step is to fill out an admissions application. Your application will tell us a little about you, including the program of your interest!

Alternatively, fill out your application online.

Second Tip: Have three references on hand with names, addresses, and phone numbers to list on your application!

2) Financial Aid Focus

When it comes to finances, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. Thankfully, Academy of Hair Design has a wonderful team that is ready and willing to help you breeze through.

To get started, just submit your FAFSA online and enter our school code 040375 ! This will send your information straight to us. After this you will receive an EFP or estimated financial plan from us that lets you know a good estimate of what will be covered and what you will be expected to pay.

3) Make it Official

After reviewing and approving your application, we will send you an acceptance letter. Congratulations! After you receive your letter, give us a call and schedule your enrollment appointment.
At your appointment you will need to bring several items for the process to go smoothly on the first take.

You will need to bring:

1. Proof of age

  • a valid driver’s license
    or
  • your birth certificate

2. Proof of high school education

  • GED certificate
  • High school diploma
    or
  • Official H.S. transcript showing you have graduated
(Home school transcripts will need to be notarized)

3. $100.00 registration/student license fee

4. Just for our future barbers Completed sports physical form signed by a physician

5. Our student services coordinator will take a quick photo of you for your student license. Just your heads up to be camera ready!

4) Start Day!

That’s it. Once we’ve decided we’re a good fit for each other, you are ready to attend the first day of class and start the next chapter of your professional life.

We can’t wait to meet you!
