It has been estimated that the average person spends one third of her cosmetic budget on nail care. Because today's fashion conscious man/woman regards professional nail care services as increasingly important, you are looking at a career with many good advantages.
Nail technology is defined as the art and science of beauty care involving all facets of the hands and nails. The Academy of Hair Design offers a 400 hour nail technology course divided into four basic units of instruction. After completing this course, you will have a complete understanding of the role of the nail technician and be prepared to take the state examination for licensing.
The professional nail care business, a billion dollar industry and growing, can offer you promising employment opportunities. In addition to the basic curriculum, speakers are featured and include top product manufactures, salon owners, competition winning nail technicians, business and marketing motivators, and more.
Nail Tech Course (400 clock hours)
- Flexible daytime schedule options
- Manicures/pedicures
- Acrylic nail application
- Fiberglass nail application
- Sculptured nails
- All state required sanitation, etc.
Admission Requirements - Applicants Must:
- Be at least 17 years of age upon enrollment
- Have a high school diploma/GED
- Sign an enrollment contract
- Sign a rules and policies statement
- Submit completed State of Missouri registration forms
- Submit 2 small bust photos (passport photos)
- Submit a copy of birth certificate or driver's license
- Pay a $75.00 application and state license fee
School Hours
- Program 1: Tuesday - Saturday, 33.5 hours per week
- Program 2: Tuesday - Saturday, 20 hours per week
